About this Site

Unless you know me, Sally Hammond, the name of this website doesn’t really give anyone much idea of what it is ABOUT.

Move around the site and you’ll soon see it is mainly concerned (as am I) with food and travel. I write books, magazine and newspaper articles about both, and have done for 15 years. 

My husband, Gordon, is the visual one, supplying pictures and masterminding the layout of this site. I do the words.

So while this is not a blog as such, there are elements of that. When we visit somewhere interesting, or I cook something which is (I think) worth sharing, then it will most likely make it onto the site.

There is a commercial side to all this too. Of course!

As a professional writer and photographer team, our bread and butter quite literally comes from our photographs and articles, usually appearing in print together. This site offers a constantly expanding selection of my Travel Writing specifically aimed at the editors of travel or inflight magazines, newspaper travel supplements or anyone else who is interested in purchasing good travel writing accompanied by top-class pictures.
