ADORA HANDMADE CHOCOLATES

Could you think of a better name for a chocolate company?

I certainly adore chocolates in general, and when I tasted these recently it was easy to see why they are so popular. I can always tell fine chocolate by the last taste of it in my mouth. If the texture is gritty or has a powdery ‘cocoa’ feel to it, I am sorely disappointed.

The Adora chocolate I sampled, though, was silky and smooth to the last. And when I read their leaflet I could see why. The basis is fine Belgian Callebaut chocolate.

Adora is a good story of hard work and success. In 1993, two sisters, chocolate tragics, began this business as a home-based venture. The recognition and awards they inevitably received soon saw them moving out into premises at Earlwood, and recently into a store right in the elegant heart of the CBD, as well.

It’s all good at either address – beautiful displays of those chocolates, of course – but better still there’s some space to relax and enjoy a very good coffee along with some (well-deserved) sweet treats.

Shop 9, Wentworth Connection, 2A Bligh Street, Sydney, 02 9232 6601.
10 Homer Street, Earlwood, 02 9559 5948.
