Thirst For Life

I remember a trend in the 70s when a slew of water shops sprang up, selling just that – water. Sadly we didn’t have the vision then and they evaporated, but this company has taken over where they left off, selling imported premium mineral waters.

Now I can have my favourite French mineral water – Badoit, with its baby fine bubbles – just by lifting the phone and calling Thirst For Life. A day or so later the carton is delivered to my door. This is one of my favourite companies, and one I order from frequently.

If you want something to go in your water, they have thought of that too. The Belvoir range of Organic Drinks and Cordials, has launched a number of new flavours with a stunning new bottle design in time for summer. I tried several of them over the hotter days round Christmas and New Year.

The Organic Blueberry and the Pomegranate & Raspberry Cordials were both Gold award winners at this year’s “Great Taste Awards” in Britain, which is run by the Guild of Delicatessens and Fine Food retailers. They are highly concentrated making up to four litres of drink. They can be mixed with still or sparkling water, used as a base for fruit desserts, or to enhance cocktails.

Belvoir Products are sold nationally through organic retailers and fine food stores including Macro Wholefoods Markets. A list of retailers is on line at www.thirstforlife.com.au.

And then there is Amé , not a Belvoir product, but also sold by Thirst for Life. I like the pink one, formerly called rosé. It’s a grape-based soft drink without added sugar or anything artificial – popular amongst adults who do not drink alcohol (and many that do, as well). It is always a hit with my guests.  “Where did you get this?” they always ask. Now you know.

Delivery is free for NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Southern Queensland. A small surcharge is payable in other areas. The minimum order is $75.

Customers who are in areas where there are no retailers can now buy online at Thirst for Life’s secure online store. www.thirstforlife.com.au.
