Basil!!

Basil’s name is well-known and respected from his long-running award-winning seafood restaurant at Marsfield. So what’s a fine restaurateur like this doing in a fish and chip shop?

 “I wanted to have restaurant-style in a takeaway,” says Basil. And he’s done it.

This spacious shop on busy Gladesville Road gleams from the front windows onwards. Fish and seafood are laid out on crushed ice in the sparkling display counter for customers to take home and cook themselves.

You wonder why they’d bother, though, as Basil’s chefs stand ready to cook anything immediately. The board above the deep fryers and grills have dozens of options, including well-priced seafood platters and gourmet options.

Fancy some salt and pepper soft-shell crab? Or a char-grilled prawn skewer…? Or Basil’s salad and special ‘secret’ dressing? It’s a great place.
