FANTASTIC FOODIES

You could be excused for thinking that Campion & Curtis is a large team of food writers, travellers and chefs. Not so. I have met them and they are two people, Allan Campion and Michele Curtis, passionate about food in general and their city of Melbourne in particular.

In the past few weeks no less than three (count them, three) of their books have been announced by Hardie Grant Books.

First there was The Foodies’ Diary 2009 (rrp $29.95) a new title for the annual seasonal food diary they have prepared for years, even prettier and more useable this year. Next came news of the release of The Foodies' Guide to Melbourne 2009 (rrp $29.95) their annual compilation of the finest food stores in Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Then just last week, the announcement of an upcoming third book, In the Kitchen, a thousand-recipe cookbook to add to the others this tireless duo have prepared over the years. Due out in November, rrp $69.95.

Allan hosts corporate and public cooking classes. His latest venture is Melbourne Food Tours, taking local and interstate foodies on walking and bus tours to the best foodie places Melbourne has to offer.
